Hello you beautiful people! In my first post I mentioned that this blog would be a introduction to me. Who is Hannah Taylor, and how did she become HLTPhotography? So here it goes... I use a beautiful Nikon D5200, I have three lenses, my favorite so far is my 35mm. I also have the stock 18-55mm lens and a 55-300mm zoom. There are a few more I'm wanting, but in this vicious cycle of business, you have to make money to buy lenses, and buy lenses to make money. But, one day i'll get there!
I'm 20 years old, I have tattoos, I pray when I need help, I love my family, my favorite color is blue, and I don't like left-overs. Im from Texas, born and raised, but hoping to travel. I am a HUGE animal lover, and you might think "Okay, she likes animals..." NO! I sleep, breathe, dream, live, loving animals. That being said, I have two! A dog who is 4 years old, his name is Sparky, and a kitten who is roughly 6 months old and her name is Caitie. These are just two of many pets I, and my family have had over the years. I have the best support system (my family) in the world. I am the 3rd of 4 girls, and guess what... all of our names start with "H". It's very chaotic sometimes. But, I wouldn't trade my insane family for anything. They are the most amazing, thoughtful, patient, supporting people I know. I also am a lucky girl and have a very wonderful boyfriend, named Jake. He's pretty cool i guess ;-) but, he's also very supportive, patient and wonderful. I've been blessed with such a wonderful group of people who love me.
From as far back as I can remember I have always loved taking pictures. Whether it was my family, pets, plants, bugs, myself, I LOVED it! There is something about taking a picture, and showing someone what you see through your eyes. How you view a plant, or animal, or building. It's mesmerizing. BUT, I never planned on being a photographer, or starting up my own business at the age of 18 (it's slow, but steady). I originally thought I was going to be an actress or singer, I dreamed about being famous for as long as I can remember. I'm a very dramatic person, and if you know me, that's me putting it lightly. I graduated high school early, and started college when I was 16, almost 17, and lets just say that didn't last long. I did one semester at Blinn, and stopped, for a few reasons. THEN I started at Lonestar when i was 18-19. I took one semester and decided I was going to major in Business. Many of my family members told me I should consider photography, but I always brushed it off, and said that photographers never really make money until they've done it for a llllooooonnnggggg time. So who changed my view on that?? It was my Uncle Danny (who probably has no idea that he is the one who made this possible). That is the man I give credit to. One day we were talking and he asked the same question many have asked before, "Why don't you just do photography? If you really love it, you should do it". I sat there and mumbled through the same excuses I've been saying, but later that day, it clicked. That's what I wanted to do. I've never been a school person, I realized that's OK, not everyone is cut out for it. So, I stopped going to college, and started up HLTPhotography officially in 2014.
SO, that is who I am. That is what led to this beautiful, chaotic, wonderful, adventurous life I live. I've been blessed in my choices of being a photographer. Another great thing about photography is the traveling, and the adventure. I've been blessed with the chance to go to Europe for 11 days, which doesn't seem like a lot, but trust me, it was. I visited Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. I took SO many pictures, and going to Germany was a life long dream of mine! I'm hoping that photography takes me all over! There are so many amazing places I have not seen yet, and just like one of my favorite quotes says, "The world is a big place, and I want to get a good look at it before it gets dark."
Currently I mainly take pictures of people. Such as, seniors, maternity, family, head shots, you name it. My passion though is nature and wildlife. I've dreamt of working for National Geographic, or really any nature magazine. Traveling, learning, capturing life as it happens, history as it unfolds in front of my eyes. Capturing those images, that can touch so many peoples hearts is what fuels the fire in my soul. One day, it'll happen. One day, i'll be able to say "I went there, I saw that, I captured that."
So, thank you for reading my not so short bio on who I am. I hope I get the pleasure of capturing your favorite moments, and I can use that shoot as another stepping stone into my long career of photography!
